The SkiA Sweetspot Ski Trainer is a 'dry land' training device. It is the smallest, lightest ski trainer in the world. Each trainer weighs only 7 oz, and a pair will easily fit in a small pack. Despite their diminutive size, they are strong and tough.

The SkiA Sweetspot Trainer is uniquely effective for skiers of all abilities. It is suitable for absolute beginners, just as it is suitable for racers, freestylers and other expert skiers.
STOP PRESS: It's not - as many skiers believe - under the toes, the ball of the foot, or the heel. In fact, it's directly beneath the center of your foot.
This point lines up with the center index mark of your ski boot. In turn, your bindings have been adjusted so that this mark lines up exactly with the index mark on your ski. Your boots and skis have been designed this way, so that when pressure is applied at precisely this point your skis will work perfectly.
The manufacturers originally chose this point because applying pressure here allows the feet to be perfectly relaxed and balanced, flat in the boot. There is no need to engage extra muscles, as you would if pressing on the front or heel of the foot. (If you doubt this, try standing on the balls of your feet, or heels, for several minutes and compare with the effort required to stand exactly centered).
Calf pains and shin pains after skiing are typically the result of being off-center.
The other big advantage of being centered in this way is that it is a very stable position. It is much easier to recover from being knocked out of balance if you start from this point. Balancing on the front or heel of the foot is not just tiring, but very unstable. (If you doubt this, carefully test this out the next time you stand on a moving bus or train - making sure that you have a safe handle to grab hold of)
Learn how to find and balance on the sweetspot, and you'll find that skiing requires far less effort.

You can use the trainer on any firm surface - such as tiles, wooden floors, carpet, and even firm snow. Simply clip it onto your ski boots and push in your chosen blocks from four levels of difficulty:
Green: The largest blocks. Fun and easy to use, even for absolute beginners.
Blue and red: A progressively difficult challenge for intermediates and more advanced skiers.
Black: Designed to be extremely difficult - a significant challenge even for experts such as experienced racers and freestyle skiers.
Practice takes just a few minutes at a time, and you feel the results immediately. After just one session, you'll start to have a clear and specific understanding of skilful centered balance. A structured program of exercises progresses from centered balance through to advanced flexion, rotation and edging techniques.
